Last Friday, we said farewell to our Institute Director, Prof. Dr. Thomas Bliesener, as he entered retirement, at a special celebration.
The evening featured many personal reflections and words of appreciation. Following welcome addresses by Falko Mohrs, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Science and Culture, and Thomas Matusche, Head of Division at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice, long-standing colleagues and professional companions took the floor to look back on shared years, career milestones, and memorable experiences.
Our colleagues also contributed to the programme with a very special edition of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”. With questions all about our director, the audience had the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test. It certainly provided plenty of entertainment and more than a few smiles.
We rounded off the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with drinks, snacks, and good conversation.
Dear Thomas, thank you for all the years we have shared, for your dedication, and for everything you have done for our institute. We wish you all the very best for your retirement, many new experiences, and, above all, plenty of time for all the things that deserve a place alongside professional life.
