A successful Gender & Crime Conference 2026

18. March 2026

Gender & Crime 2026, with the theme “Gender in the Context of Social Polarisation”, is now behind us – and we can look back on two intensive, enriching days.

Together with the German Women Lawyers’ Association (Deutscher Juristinnenbund e.V.) and the Institute of Criminology at the University of Göttingen, we were delighted to welcome numerous participants from academia and the professional world last week.

A particular highlight was the keynote lecture by Prof. Dr Ursula Birsl on anti-feminism and masculinism within Christian fundamentalism, the authoritarian right and the ultra-libertarian tech scene. Through a variety of formats – ranging from panels and a poster session to a panel discussion – current issues were examined, challenges discussed and important insights gained for future work.

A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers, attendees and contributors who made this conference such a resounding success. We will be publishing a conference proceedings volume again this year – stay tuned!
