Dear colleagues, We cordially invite you to the third edition of the Gender & Crime conference – held in person for the first time in 2024! After two successful online conferences, where the great response and intense debates highlighted the interest in gender-specific aspects in criminology and criminal law, this year’s conference will take place as an in-person event at Georg August University in Göttingen. In its first year, the conference dealt generally with gender aspects in criminal law, criminology, victimology and penology. In 2022, the focus was on the topics of sexual self-determination and gender-specific violence. The 2024 conference will focus on the structures of gender-specific violence and its causes and circumstances. The symposium will be held in person in Göttingen on Thursday, 25 April and Friday, 26 April 2024. In addition to a keynote speech and a panel discussion, various panel sessions and a poster session will present and discuss current topics and research findings, as well as offering networking opportunities for researchers working in this field.
Due to limited space in the premises, we kindly ask you to register by 2 April 2024. Thanks to financial support, we are able to waive the conference fee. However, there is a small catering fee of €20 for the provision of meals. A reduced fee of €15 will be charged for students and trainee solicitors. If this fee represents a significant challenge for you and you are unable to pay it for financial reasons, please contact us. We will endeavour to find individual solutions.
The organising team looks forward to your participation!
